The 20-year-old, who has represented Belgium at various youth levels, struggled during his time in Italy, prompting a return to France, where he had previously played for RC Lens.

According to Transfermarkt, Rennes paid €500,000 (R9.6 million) to acquire the youngster during the January transfer window.

This marked a financial loss for Hellas Verona, who had signed Sishuba just six months earlier for €2.5 million (R48.4 million) from RC Lens.

Nevertheless, Sishuba now finds himself back in France, where he rose through the ranks of RC Lens from U-17 level to the senior team.

Now at Rennes, the Belgian-South African's four-and-a-half-year contract is worth €1.4 million (R27.1 million), according to football financial data website Capology.com.

A breakdown of his earnings shows that Sishuba pockets a salary of €5,385 (R104,000) per week, which equates to €280,000 (R5.4 million) per month.

The youngster is yet to make his debut for Rennes, who currently sit 13th in the Ligue 1 standings.
