PSV got a lifeline a little to halftime after a foul by Partey on Luuk de Jong led to a penalty, and Noa Lang executed – giving goalkeeper David Raya no chance.

The Gunners raced further ahead in the second half as Martin Odegaard tucked in a loose ball in the box before Leandro Trossard arrowed in a delivery from substitute Calafiori.
