In recent weeks, multiple reports have indicated that the 33-year-old might leave the English club. It was rumoured that French Ligue 1 team Paris Saint-Germain are considering the option of acquiring his services.

When Liverpool remained coy regarding their captain's future, discussions were said to be in process. Van Dijk, on the other hand, was understood to have made his intentions to remain with the Reds quite evident.
