AFCON 2019: CAF name seven legendary footballers as ambassadors for continental showpiece

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the seven legendary footballers who will serve as ambassadors for the upcoming 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.   With less than three days remaining before the tournament kicks off on Friday, CAF have confirmed the former greats of the continent as ambassadors for the showpiece that ends on 19 July.   Scroll through the gallery above to see the full list of legendary ambassadors selected by CAF this week   Four-time African Footballer of the Year Samuel Eto'o, who's yet to officially retire is amongst the illustrious company that also includes Nigeria icon Nwankwo Kanu.   Former Liverpool forward El Hadji Diouf, the only Senegal player to win the CAF Player of the Year crown was also selected.   Meanwhile Ivory Coast duo Didier Drogba and Yaya Toure, who forged iconic statuses in the Premier League with Chelsea and Manchester City respectively too made the list.
