
AFCON 2019: Ex-Kaizer Chiefs defender and two PSL stars named in final 23-man Uganda squad
Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Godfrey Walusimbi and two Absa Premiership stars have been named in the Uganda squad for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations by coach Sebastien Desabre. Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Denis Onyango headlines the squad, with Maritzburg United's Alan Kateregga the other South African-based player. KCCA's Sadam Juma, Carlstad United's Alexis David Bbakka and Viper's midfielder Moses Waiswa were the notable omissions by the French tactician. Uganda will take on Cote d'Ivoire next Saturday in their final preparatory match before heading to Egypt for the prestigious tournament - in which they are alongside hosts Egypt, DR Congo and Zimbabwe.
