Algeria joined Nigeria and Egypt in the knockout stages of the Africa Cup of Nations following a 1-0 win over Senegal.
The Algerians sent out the same eleven from their comfortable win over Kenya, as Sadio Mane and Cheikhou Kouyate returned for Senegal after missing their 2-0 win over Tanzania.
Senegal made a strong start in the first 10 minutes, as their frontmen led by Mane played off each other with the Desert Warriors unmoved.
The North Africans clicked into gear towards the 20th minute mark and pounced on a loose ball in midfield to set up Baghdad Bounedjah who fired against the defence from 25-yards.
Algeria had the Senegalese on the back-foot 27 minutes in as Bounedjah beat Edouard Mendy for an improvised dink, but Kalidou Koulibaly wrestled the ball off the goal-line.
The encounter began flowing on either end, with the Algerians attaining the lion share of play following the Senegalese's earlier dominance.
No changes were issued at the break, as the Algerians took the lead four minutes in after Youcef Belaili fired into the centre of the net following Sofiane Feghouli's cut-back.
Panic buttons crept in for the Teranga Lions, as Bounedjah skimmed the wide post after 60 minutes from a Riyad Mahrez delivery.
Two minutes later, a change for Senegal took place with Keita Balde sacrificed for Sada Thioub in attack.
Senegal's quest to the equaliser seemed distant, with Thioub passing backwards instead of forward following an inviting counterattack two minutes later.
This inspired the Desert Foxes to wrap up the contest to move to the knockout stages ahead of their final game against Tanzania in Group C on Monday.
