Egypt ended their Africa Cup of Nations group stage journey with a 2-0 win over Uganda to finish top of Group A.
The hosts made three changes as Baher El Mohamady, Nabil Emad and Ahmed Mahgoub were called up, while Nicholas Wadada, Timothy Awany, Farouk Miya and Allan Kyambadde started for the Cranes.
The Cranes were threatening in the opening minutes through attempts from Emmanuel Okwi and Khaled Aucho inside the area, while Egypt goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shenawy was forced into a finger-tip save from Kyambadde's long-range drive.
The danger wasn't over, as El-Shenawy pulled off a double save from Kyambadde and Lumala Abdu's follow-up header after 36 minutes.
Against the run of play, the Pharaohs brought the stadium to life a minute later as Mohamed Salah's free-kick found crept in to the far corner.
On the stroke of halftime, Egypt went further ahead after Ahmed Elmohamady found the bottom corner from a square-field pass from the left.
In the second half, the Egyptians pushed for more efforts in the final third as Onyango denied Salah with a one-handed save. The match hanged firmly in the balance afterwards, with the Ugandans posing a few scares near the final third.
Uganda's first change came through injury in the last 20 minutes, as Onyango went off for Robert Odonkgara.
The two sides pushed each other in the final minutes, but the Egyptians secured their cushion to march in to the knockout stages with three successive victories in Group A while Uganda qualify after finishing second.
