Bafana Bafana coach Stuart Baxter says there are many ways to win a game of football, following the team's lacklustre display against Morocco at Al Salam Stadium in Cairo on Monday.
Bafana suffered a killer blow against the North African, conceding in the 90th minute as they lost 1-0 in their final group match. It was another disappointing display from Baxter's boys, who did not have a single shot on target throughout the 90 minutes.
"You look at the situation we had before the game. It was not certain that we would need three points, but the are many ways of trying to get the three points and I think if we attacked Morocco, then maybe we would have enjoyed the game a lot more," Baxter said after the game.
"I think the players played well, in terms of their distances, angles, pressing and defending crosses. We had situations where we played better in the last third and concentrated. There's many ways to win a game of football, but losing in the last 30 seconds of the game from a set play which I think is a very cheap set play, then I think don't it's a time for me to start questioning the players. It's a time to accept that the result is not what we want, but there are many ways to win a game of football."
