Togo ended in the last position in their qualification group behind Egypt, Comoros – who qualified for the first time in their history – and Kenya after scoring just three goals and losing all six of their matches during the campaign.
Le Roy, who has managed 10 other national teams across Africa and Asia throughout his career, oversaw 26 matches during his time at the helm, winning five, drawing nine and suffering defeat in the remaining 12 encounters.
He is the second high-profile coach to lose his job in recent weeks following South Africa's decision to part ways with Molefi Ntseki, after Bafana Bafana similarly failed to qualify for the continent's showpiece tournament.
