A man believed to be a pastor was reportedly assaulted by fans during Eswatini's 4-1 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying defeat to Senegal in Manzini on Sunday.
With the match still 0-0, a man wearing white attire stormed the pitch immediately after the referee stopped the game due to heavy rain and thunderstorms early in the second half and ordered both sets of players to vacate the pitch.
The 'pastor' went straight to the right side of the pitch and held onto a goalpost and started praying.

However, his act was not received well by some fans who pounced on him and assaulted him before he was saved by the security and police at the stadium.
The game resumed in the 58th minute and the home side Sihlangu went on to lose 4-1 as Famara Diedhiou netted a hat-trick and Badou Ndiaye added another. Fanelo Mamba scored Eswatini's consolation goal.

According to Times of Swaziland reporter Sanele Jele, who was covering the match, the mysterious man claimed he was sent by local authorities.
"We tried to interview him after the game. He said he was sent by local authorities to go and perform rituals on the field," Jele tells snl24.com/kickoff.
"What is so strange, all the goals came after the man entered the pitch and held one of the goal posts."
