KickOff.com rates the individuals performances of Bafana Bafana players against Morocco

snl24.com/kickoff rates the individual performances of the Bafana Bafana players after their 1-0 defeat to Morocco in their final Africa Cup of Nations Group D clash.

Ronwen Williams – 5

Back in goal after he was left on the bench last Friday, Williams did not have much to do in goal. He dealt with crosses fairly well, though there were very few that were actually testing. Was well beaten when a thunderous effort struck the crossbar in the second half.

Thamsanqa Mkhize – 6

The Cape Town City skipper was Bafana's best performing player, giving his all both in attack and defence. He got forward to take a shot at goal early in the second half, but it went wide of goal. He also did well to cover the central defenders at times, getting across the backline to make challenges.

Thulani Hlatshwayo – 5

Was strong in the air and positioned himself well most of the time. He'll feel that he could have done a bit more to help clear the ball which ended up in Bafana's net.

Buhle Mkhwanazi – 5

Held his own against the Moroccan attackers, but was beaten at times which forced him to face his goal when defending.

Sifiso Hlanti – 4

Not an inspiring performance from the Bidvest Wits left back. A back pass in the second half almost gave Moroccan a chance to score. Going forward he did not offer much, and his crossing left a lot to be desired.

Bongani Zungu – 4

He was the hero when Bafana beat Namibia last Friday, but was below par this evening. The Amiens midfielder was booked just after the half hour mark.

Kamohelo Mokotjo – 4

Nowhere to be seen in the middle of the park. Mokotjo could not dominate things in midfield.

Themba Zwane – 4

Zwane had a poor game, hardly getting involved in the game. He was booked in the first half and taken off in the 75th minute after a lacklustre display.

Thulani Serero – 4

Made his first start in the competition, but he was more like a passenger. He did not give the team anything going forward.

Percy Tau – 5

Was full of running, but never really threatened the Moroccan goal. He had a shot which went narrowly wide of goal in the first half. Not a good game by his standards.

Lebo Mothiba – 3

The France-based forward had another disappointinng 90 minutes, making no impact whatsoever. He was taken off in the 73rd minute.

SUBS

Lars Veldwijk – 3

Came on with 17 minutes left on the clock and made no difference. It did not help that there was no supply going forward.

Sibusiso Vilakazi – 3

Vilakazi came on for Zwane in the final 15 minutes of the game and was just a ghost, nowhere to be seen.

Hlompho Kekana – 3

Came on in the final 10 minutes for Zungu. Could not settle as Bafana were already being dominated in the middle of the park.
