Knowledge Musona: Zimbabwe star declares Anderlecht unhappiness and hints transfer ahead of AFCON 2019

Zimbabwe captain Knowledge Musona has hit out at Belgian giants Anderlecht ahead of what seems an imminent off-season exit.   Musona, 28, joined the 34-time league champions in May last year on a four year-contract after four impressive seasons in the top-flight with Oostende but was afforded just three league starts by January.   READ: Diouf snubbed in formidable Senegal AFCON squad   His lack of playing time saw him make a six-month loan switch to KSC Lokeren, which has now come to an end after scoring once in six games.   "At the moment, I am not thinking about it (returning to Anderlecht)," he told NewsDay. "I will think about it after Afcon.    "Last year, I did not play that much and, honestly, I wasted a year of my playing career. I did not enjoy it because of the way I was treated at the club."   While his agent denied a potential return to former club Kaizer Chiefs on social media this week after growing reports, the Warriors striker feels the upcoming continental showpiece in Egypt could provide the perfect platform to reignite his club career in Europe.   READ: Kalou and Gervinho miss out for Ivory Coast   "I haven't received any offers as yet because the window just opened and also when I left the season had just ended so we will see what happens," Musona said when asked about his next move.   "It is a long way to go. I believe if I go to Afcon and play good football for the national team, then the doors will open and other good opportunities may come."   Musona has scored 19 goals in 27 caps for Zimbabwe which ranks him the third highest scorer in the nations' history behind Benjani Mwaruwari and Peter Ndlovu who netted 29 and 38 goals respectively.
