Molefi Ntseki discusses prospects of Bafana Bafana beating Ghana

Bafana take on Ghana at the Cape Coast Stadium in just over 24 hours (21h00), as they get their 2021 AFCON qualifying campaign underway.

It is the new coach's first competitive match since taking the reins from Stuart Baxter in August, and he has since expressed his delight at having a full contingent at his disposal.

"We are all happy and we are all looking forward. It's good to have everybody available, and the good news is that there were no major injuries," reported Ntseki from Cape Coast.

"All the niggling injuries our medical team could deal with, so we've got a clean bill of health, which is a plus for the team going into this match."

Of the prospects of facing the Black Stars away from home, Ntseki is targeting at the very least to maintain the point with which they start the match but is optimistic that, if things go accordingly, a three-point haul could lead towards a top finish for his side in Group C.

"Yes, it's a tough one – playing Ghana in Ghana, but if you look at the history of Bafana, we've done very well when playing away," he added.

"This is because we have players who try very hard especially when playing away, because they know they can only be their own best supporters; they can only carry out our tactical plan to the latter so that we get maximum points.

"Coming into this one we have a point as of now, and we are looking forward to protecting that point, and if all goes well for us then getting two more points and going home with maximum points will make us very happy and confident going into the Sudan game.

"Our chances of qualifying and winning this group will be made possible if ever we get maximum points against Ghana."

Bafana will return to Johannesburg on Friday before hosting Sudan at Orlando Stadium on Sunday afternoon (15h00).
