Nigeria boss: We have to be more disciplined against Bafana Bafana

Ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final clash against Bafana Bafana, Nigeria boss Gernot Rohr has revealed which aspects of the Super Eagles' game he thinks need improvement.

The three-time Afcon winners booked their spot to face South Africa after securing a 3-2 victory over defending champions Cameroon in their last 16 tie.

Rohr's charges have scored five goals, but, worryingly, also conceded four times en route to the quarters, and the Super Eagles boss has called on his players to banish individual errors.

"We saw it already against Madagascar; two individual mistakes caused the goals, gifts, so now it is not a good moment to make gifts," Rohr said in a press conference, as per allnigeriasoccer.com.

"We have to be more disciplined, more committed in the defensive job. What we did against Cameroon half-time, we changed the organisation in the midfield that Alex is helping a little bit more our two defensive midfielders.

"And it was better in the second half because our fullbacks could stay closer to the wingers, which was not the case in the first half.

"Sometimes there is lack of communication between our players, between goalkeepers and central defenders, between central defenders and fullbacks, between fullbacks and wingers, so we must do better in this department, in the communication, especially in the defensive organisation of our players."

Bafana and Nigeria will do duty at the Cairo International Stadium tonight, with kick-off set for 21:00.
