Reyaad Pieterse admits Itumeleng Khune is a big loss for AFCON
Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Reyaad Pieterse believes it is a huge blow for South Africa not to have Itumeleng Khune in the squad for the Africa Cup of Nations. Khune will miss the tournament through injury and Darren Keet, Ronwen Williams and Bruce Bvuma will do duty in Egypt after Stuart Baxter named his final Banana Bafana squad on Sunday. "I wish him a speedy recovery, solid goalkeeper and surely he will be missed in the squad with his presence in goals, it's a big loss for South Africa," said Pieterse. "But not taking away the fact that the goalkeepers [Darren] Keet, [Ronwen] Williams and [Bruce] Bvuma are also as good as him, we need to support them." South Africa will be looking to emulate the class of 1996 by winning the Nations Cup, a task that will require all 23 players to produce the best national team performances of their careers.
