Bafana take on The Black Stars at Cape Coast Stadium this evening (21h00) as they look to kick-off their 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign on a high.
Coming off a promising showing in Egypt recently, as well as reflecting back on their impressive win away to Nigeria in their opening 2019 AFCON qualifier back in June 2017, Williams believes there is no reason not to believe they can claim all three points tonight.
"It's not going to be easy, they're one of the giants on the continent, but we've played a lot of the top teams on the continent in the last few years," said Williams.
"I think we've played Nigeria four times in two years, and we've played the best of the best – Egypt and Senegal – and got positive results.
"We need to focus on our game and our play, because we've also got a lot of players playing overseas now and they need to help us as well.
"But I think we're much stronger mentally, so we don't need to put much focus on them. They've obviously got the world stars, but we've shown that if we stick to our structure and our mentality is right, we can beat all these teams."
The SuperSport United stalwart has also acknowledged his role in ensuring Bafana keep a clean sheet, which would certainly avoid defeat in both qualifiers, including Sunday's one at home to Sudan.
"We pride ourselves in our defending and in our structure, and that's what we have at the moment – if you sit up [in the stands], you can see the structure and shape," he added.
"So that is vital, it's something we've never had before, and we need to keep it. I mean, if you don't concede you win games, or at the very least you'll draw.
"We need points because it's vital to start this campaign on a positive note, so if we can get two clean sheets then I'd be the happiest person alive."
