SAFA confirms Zimbabwe will use Orlando Stadium to host Algeria

SAFA has confirmed that Zimbabwe will use a South African venue for the Warriors' 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Algeria.

ZIFA chief executive Joseph Mamutse is said to have sealed a contract with SAFA on Monday for the game to be played at Orlando Stadium in Soweto.

CAF has banned stadiums in Zimbabwe from hosting football as they don't meet international standards and ordered ZIFA to look for an alternative venue for the match scheduled for 31 March.

According to SAFA acting CEO Gay Mokoena, the Zimbabweans have opted to use Orlando Stadium to welcome the Desert Foxes.

"Yes, at Orlando Stadium," replies Mokoena to snl24.com/kickoff when asked if reports in Zimbabwe are true.

"Ja, the Zimbabweans requested us to assist them to arrange for the game here. We are looking at Dobsonville or Orlando Stadium. I think they are settling for Orlando Stadium."
