Baghdad Bounedjah's second minute deflected effort was enough to hand the Desert Foxes their second Afcon title after defeating Senegal in Cairo on Friday evening.

Senegal's wait for a first Afcon title goes on as a result, but Cisse believes the nation are getting closer to clinching the main prize.

"The last time Senegal reached this point was in 2002. The experience of big matches, we want to be here more often," Cisse said, according to SuperSport TV.

"We're getting closer to winning. The team has been making progress these past five years."
