After threatening to boycott their Africa Cup of Nations opener against Egypt due to a pay dispute, the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) are again believed to have threatened to withdraw the Warriors from AFCON, once again due to payment issues.
Ahead of the spectacle in Egypt, Zimbabwean journalist Howard Musonza brought to light allegations that members of the Warriors squad had entered into crunch talks with ZIFA, who were believed to be dishonest about the amounts that the players were set to be allocated in appearance fees and bonuses for the tournament.

As per Zimbabwe publication The Herald, the saga is said to have reached an alarming stalemate, with ZIFA threatening to withdraw the team from tournament ahead of their final Group A encounter against DR Congo on Sunday.
It has been claimed that the Zimbabwean team is threatening strike action, but are willing to resume normal duty in Egypt if ZIFA pay the reported shortfall owed to the players by the latest Friday.
"We were called in and told of the developments about the possible withdrawal from the tournament and we told them that we were ready to go home because we believe they haven't fulfilled our contracts‚" an unnamed player said, as per The Herald.
"We have an agreement with them and it has to be fulfilled."
The report further revealed details of an implosion in the Zimbabwean camp, with it being claimed that players had not received their appearance fees for the 1-1 draw with Uganda on Wednesday.
It is also alleged that a bust-up between players Tino Kadewere and Tafadzwa Kutinyu had been covered up by the national team, who are reportedly poised to send the duo home for ill-discipline.
Former Orlando Pirates star Kudakwashe Mahachi, who recently joined SuperSport United, is another player who could be sent packing from the tournament after reportedly breaching team regulations by taking to social media to question his lack of game time so far in Egypt.
