The 54-year-old's return ends a six-year absence for coaching in South Africa, and for his former player Arthur Zwane - who played under Ertugral at Chiefs - the move is a good one for local football.

"When it comes to coach [Ertugral], I'm happy for him," Zwane responded when journalists asked about Ertugal's return after AmaZulu's goalless draw against Golden Arrows on Saturday.

"He has always been my mentor. It's always good to see him back because of his knowledge for football and what he has done.

"More especially, he believes in youngsters and the way he structures his teams, I learned a lot from him.

"Actually, he is the one who encouraged me to become a coach. I started coaching while I was still playing at Kaizer Chiefs - I ended up having my own team because of him.

"The style of play [I used in that team] was based on the way Muhsin coached, his style, and many other things that I learned from him. He became more like a father figure to me.

"So I admire him. I'm happy for him, I'm happy for football in the country for him, because his experience is second to none."
