OFFICIAL: Ofori unveiled at new club

Confirming a KickOff exclusive, AmaZulu FC have now announced the signing of former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Richard Ofori as they look to strengthen their bid for a top four finish.

This website reported on Sunday that the Ghanaian international had reached a verbal agreement with Usuthu to join on a free transfer and would be travelling to Durban to undergo a medical, which would pave way for the move.

Furthermore, head coach Pablo Franco Martin confirmed the player's presence at their training ground as early as Monday. Now, all the t's have been crossed and i's dotted, strengthening a last line of defence that has been wobbly so far this season, conceding five goals in two games. 

Not to mention that the goals were shipped in under two different goalkeepers. 

Once fully fit and raring to go, Ofori will provide a sense of stability to AmaZulu's goalkeeping department with his vast experience and organisational skills.

AmaZulu Football Club have secured the services of free agent goalkeeper Richard Ofori (30), signing the Ghanaian international on a permanent deal.

Ofori, who will be joining the KwaZulu Natal team for the upcoming Betway Premiership season, is eager to make an impact.

The former Orlando Pirates and Maritzburg United player expressed his excitement about the move to KZN, a province he considers close to his heart.

"I'm happy to be here in KZN again. It feels like home, as KwaZulu Natal was where I first arrived in South Africa. We're here to work and continue the journey. The team is a big club, the oldest in the country, and I'm here to contribute," said Ofori.

He also praised his fellow goalkeepers, emphasizing the importance of unity. "The team has excellent goalkeepers, and together, we aim to work as a unit to help the club achieve its goals," Ofori added.
