Former Bafana captain set to join AmaZulu

Former Bafana Bafana captain Bongani Khumalo could make a sensational return to club football next season.

Khumalo who is currently a football analyst with pay-channel, SuperSport TV is reported to be earmarked for an influential role at DStv Premiership side AmaZulu.

Khumalo has reportedly been short-listed among several candidates who have applied for the position of Director of Football at Usuthu.

The former Bafana captain has been spotted at the AmaZulu offices on several occasions in Durban as reports intensified on his links to the club.

Former Orlando Pirates football administrator, Floyd Mbele has also been linked with a move to AmaZulu next season.

"The team is set to announce a new coach in the next day or two. They will also be announcing a Director of Football and Khumalo has already been spotted with club boss Sandile Zungu a few weeks ago," a source tells KickOff.

AmaZulu has also short-listed Luc Eymael and Martin Pablo for the vacant head coach position ahead of preparations for next season.
