Frustrated Usuthu defender seeking exit

Forgotten AmaZulu defender Samkelo Mgwazela is understood to be agitating for a move away from the club after growing frustrated at a limited amount of playing time.

Mgwazela is reportedly pushing for a move away from Usuthu at the end of the current campaign if his situation doesn't change.

Representative Brett Arthur admits the 23-year-old is growing frustrated by his lack of game-time.

"It's no secret Samkelo was Benni's go-to man, Benni loved him, then Sam got involved with the wrong crowd and got fat and lazy as many players do," Arthur tells KickOff.

"He then joined me, and when he did I told him I wanted him to be the same guy that started out under Benni.

"Since I've been in touch with Joshua Smith from AmaZulu who is the head physician at AmaZulu is. He has assured me the boy is fit and lean, he understands the boy's frustration on why he is not playing.

"Prior to Romain Folz being fired, I met with him, and Folz was adamant that he mustn't start looking for clubs because he was part of his plans for next season.

"The long story short, the youngster is not playing, he is 23 years old, and he is a proper centre-back.

"So, we can say he is looking for a way out because he is not getting played, he is frustrated.

"The club is not really saying much, I've messaged Mr Zungu, we were supposed to meet with the general manager Tshepiso Mofokeng last week, but he was busy.

"So, I think their intention is to loan him out, but the thing is he is a free agent in June.

"He was a regular in Benni McCarthy's side and he fell out of favour when Brandon Truter came.

"There are two games left and the player is not playing, but hey I'm waiting for my meeting with AmaZulu and they might be having good intentions."
