Folz aware of AmaZulu expectations ahead of Pirates clash

New AmaZulu head coach Romain Folz is aware of high expectations as he prepares his side to tackle Orlando Pirates on Friday.

AmaZulu parted ways with former head coach Brandon Truter just 10 games into the season. New head coach Romain Folz, who was unveiled on Monday, says he is aware of the club's high expectations.

"I'm looking to do the best work possible. We know it is a big team, a big club and it comes with a lot of expectations," he told the club's media.

AmaZulu were also voted by supporters as one of only four teams in the premiership to participate in this year's new-look Carling Black Label Cup.

"We have a big amount of fans looking at us and looking at us to perform. We know what we have to do. We know the expectations. The only thing we can say is that we are going to give our best to match the expectations of the people," Folz added.

Folz will be assisted by Ayanda Dlamini. Musa Langa has also been roped in as the new goalkeeper coach.

"I can only tell that fans that myself and the boys and the staff will do our best to make the people proud," the Frenchman said.

The new coach does not have much time for pleasantries, Folz and his charges must turn their immediate attention to Orlando Pirates.

The two teams will lock horns in a DStv Premiership clash to be played on Friday at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto.

The Buccaneers have not tasted victory in their last three matches, having drawn against Sundowns in the MTN8, suffered a shock defeat to Sekhukhune before enduring a frustrating draw against league debutants Richards Bay.
