Martin was named as Usuthu head coach on June 20, with the former Real Madrid assistant coach replacing Ayanda Dlamini after his contract was not renewed at the end of last season.

Martin arrived in Durban yesterday evening and was met with a warm reception at the King Shaka International airport by the AmaZulu president, Sandile Zungu and club supporters.

'I am feeling great, really feeling grateful for the effort that the club has done to bring me here, to organize this warm welcome. I am so excited about the project (and) I think it's amazing, its challenging. I think we have potential and everything to succeed," said Martin upon arrival in Durban yesterday.

"Mr Zungu was in chat with me about the nickname. It was explained to me what it means. In, fact I am kind of a warrior. When I go to a club, I fight for the club. I am going to fight for every single training session, I am going to fight in every game. I am going to protect my people.

"Of course this is football, this is not war, but I consider myself someone who fights for those around the team and this is what I am going to do with my new family, the Amazulu family," he added.
