Rama completes dramatic return to AmaZulu

Veteran defender Ramahlwe Mphahlele has made a dramatic return to DStv Premiership side AmaZulu after initially departing the club after the club completed a managerial change.

Mphahlele had initially been released by Usuthu after being deemed surplus to requirements by then-head coach Romain Folz.

The former Kaizer Chiefs defender, alongside teammates Keagan Buchanan and Lehlohonolo Majoro saw their deals terminated, with 'Rama' and Majoro remaining at the club.

"Rama did train with the team on Wednesday. He was at training again today," AmaZulu media officer Brilliant Mkhathini tells KickOff.

Usuthu is currently in 12th position in the standings with 28 points from 24 matches so far this season.

Meanwhile, despite handing Folz an initial three-year contract extension recently, club owner Sandile Zungu confirmed that Folz had been redeployed to a technical advisor role.

"What you will find is no coach is perfect and every coach who coach who introduces a certain style of coaching will be question by those who are accustomed to certain style but the fact for the matter is someone has got to have his head on the block, the bus has got to stop at some door and often it is the coach," Zungu said.
