Following the not-so-shocking departure of Pablo Franco Martin from AmaZulu FC, Vusimuzi Vilakazi has emerged as a hot favourite to take over as head coach at the club.
Martin has been shown the exit door at Usuthu after only three games in charge of the team this season.
Such has been their dismal display that they are yet to register points on the board, having played three games thus far, and therefore lie in 16th place.

The management pulled the trigger, announced the Spaniard's release after 15 months at the club.
He joined AmaZulu in June last year on a 36-month contract following a successful stint with Simba SC in Tanzania.
Soon after his appointment, Martin was given the nickname 'Cijimpi ' by the club, just as they did with his predecessor Romain Folz, popularly known as 'Fohloza'.
According to a source at the club, they have already interviewed three coaches and are expected to make an announcement before the end of this week.
"AmaZulu began negotiations for the departure of Martin over the weekend. The club has already identified three potential candidates for the head coach position. Vilakazi is also highly favoured to take over as head coach," said the source.

Vilakazi is currently the DStv Diski Challenge coach at Usuthu, and last had a PSL coaching job at Richards Bay, whom he led to safety after the promotion/relegation play-offs in June, only to be bizarrely let go before the new season.
AmaZulu have also announced the departure of assistant coach Aitor Van Den Brule from the club.
He also joined last year June following recommendation by Martin.
