Zungu address Mnqithi, Makhaula, Maduna rumours

AmaZulu FC chairman Sandile Zungu has finally addressed the rumours surrounding his club.

According to media reports the club is planning to replace Romain 'Fohloza' Folz who was just hired two months ago with Mamelodi Sundowns assistant coach Manqoba Mnqithi.

While the club's captain Makhehlene Makhaula whose contract with the club expires at the end of the season is rumoured to be on his way to Orlando Pirates.

Usuthu's promising attacking midfielder Sphesihle Maduna who also has seven months left on his contract is heavily linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs.

"I understand people are saying we want Mnqithi, people are playing with you guys, I don't know where they get these things," Zungu tells KickOff.

"Sometimes I see this as very disrespectful to Mnqithi, and so disrespectful to Fohloza, and so disrespectful to our relationship with Sundowns.

"Sometimes you just don't know where to start to respond to this, it's best to choose just to keep quiet.

"As for players' movement, maybe in a week or two, we will say something.

"About player-movement there are things which we are working on, and it's very difficult to talk about them because they are at a critical stage.

"Maduna I don't know what they are talking about, neither do I know where they get this thing of Makhaula from.

"In the past, we would have been concerned, but we are no longer concerned about these things [rumours] because now we understand in Soccer this is how things happen.

"But when the time is right, we will communicate about player movement, including those that are speculated about, some of it is just someone's pipe dream. I won't talk specifically."

Zungu confirmed the club will be making one or two signings of their own come to the January transfer window.

"Ya, we will sign one or two new players."
