AmaZulu chairman Sandile Zungu has revealed the club's ambitions to not only return to the top four on the DStv Premiership log but to dethrone seven-time consecutive league winners Mamelodi Sundowns.
Usuthu have begun preparations for the upcoming 2024/25 in a bid to produce a better showing than their 2023/24 season that saw them finish 11th on the log table.

Meanwhile, the league title went to Sundowns who bulldozed their way to a seventh consecutive league title.
Despite the 37-point gap between the two teams last season, AmaZulu owner Zungu has insisted that his side have what it takes to topple The Brazilians.
"Even Mamelodi Sundowns is a great team but we can reasonably aim to dethrone them just like all other ambitious teams must aim to dethrone them," Zungu told journalists at a press conference on Monday.
"They've done exceptionally well and we are very proud of their achievements but we need to dethrone them, somebody has got to move them from the pinnacle they have occupied for so long and we believe AmaZulu must raise its hand and say 'we want to be counted'.
"So the idea of a turnaround is the easiest to talk about, the question is do we have the material to achieve that.
"We believe we have the requisite material within the resources that we have, that many teams have. We believe we have requisite material to compete and we will compete."
