Zwane left Chiefs for good?

Newly-appointed AmaZulu FC co-coach Arthur Zwane could have left Kaizer Chiefs for good, after indications that he is at the Durban-based outfit on loan.

Zwane has not jumped into a different coaching project outside the Naturena Village since he started his coaching career at Chiefs, with the only exception being to serve as assistant coach to Molefi Ntseki at Bafana Bafana, while he simultaneously held a gig as head coach of the Soweto giants' DStv Diski Challenge team.

After leaving the side a few months into 2023/24, where he was demoted from head coach to assistant, 'Mangethe' was redeployed in an unspecified role within the structures, before it later emerged that he held a senior academy coach role.

Following his appointment as co-coach alongside Vusumuzi Vilakazi at Usuthu, there were reports '10111' could have been sent to the side on loan and a door could be open for him to return to Amakhosi.

However, Zwane has suggested he is ready to spread his wings as a coach and feels he has done his part at the club where he is considered a legend, as he explained how the negotiations for his release went.

"I contacted [Kaizer Motaung] Jr. after I asked the [AmaZulu] President [Sandile] Zungu to engage Jr. When he got back to me to say he has already engaged Jr. and Jr. has agreed, and Jr. called me and said he has agreed with Zungu that I can go to AmaZulu," Zwane said on Metro FM Sports.

"Obviously it was good for me, for my personal growth as well. I'm happy to be part of AmaZulu now. I think I've done my part at Kaizer Chiefs, I thank them for what they have done [for me]. I'm grateful and I appreciate everything they've done for me over the years".

In their statement confirming Zwane's exit, Chiefs said: "We thank 10111 for his 24 years of service to Amakhosi and extend our best wishes to him as he embarks on this exciting new chapter with Usuthu!"
