The most valuable of those players taking part in the tournament is Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe, who will be hoping to add to his 2018 FIFA World Cup winner's medal by guiding France to European glory.

Mbappe, 22, is currently valued at a staggering figure of €160 million (R2.6 billion), which sees him comfortably rank as the most valuable player at the Euros, and indeed as the most valuable footballer in the world.

He is followed by Tottenham Hotspur striker and England captain Harry Kane, who trails in second place with a reported market value of €120 million (R1.9 billion). The prolific striker won the Golden Boot award at the most recent World Cup and will be hoping to emulate that form this time around.

Behind Kane, his countryman Jadon Sancho and the Belgian pair of Romelu Lukaku and Kevin De Bruyne round out the top three as the only other players valued at €100 million (R1.6 billion) or more, with the trio all valued at one hundred bars, according to Transfermarkt.
