Bafana Bafana struck late in the second half to secure a 3-2 win over South Sudan in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
Bafana dropped Veli Mothwa and gave Sipho Chaine his international debut while Thapelo Morena earned a recall following the draw against Uganda on Friday.
The start wasn't what the team had anticipated as they trailed after 15 minutes when Tito Okello riled home from the penalty spot after being brought down by Siyabonga Ngezana, who only earned a yellow card.
An instant response was shown by Bafana, as Oswin Appollis dropped of the shoulder at the near post and slotted into the far post from the tightest of angles for his first national team goal.
The home team were urged to a substitution due to injury with Jackson Morgan unable to carry on, with William Gama introduced on the park.
Morena was denied in succession ahead of halftime where his close-range shot off Aubrey Modiba's cutback led to a goal-line clearance before firing the follow-up off the woodwork.
Bafana did go in front on the stroke of the halftime as Appollis worked an angle following a loose ball in the box and fired in from a tight angle to complete his brace.
Sudan didn't lose confidence but rallied on and hit back 12 minutes from the break when Valentino Yuel nicked possession in the area off Ngezana to finish in the far corner.
Not all was lost for least Bafana who continued to press forward in hope of going in front but substitute Elias Mokwana lacked the desired efficiency.
Victory though was sealed at the death when Thalente Mbatha pushed to the edge of the area following a loose ball and drilled in the bottom-corner to make it two goals from two matches.
Bafana survived the final bit of minutes ahead of fulltime and managed to see out the win to go second in Group K.
