Bafana Bafana and Nigeria settled for a share of the spoils after playing to a 1-1 draw in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Friday evening.
Bafana head coach Hugo Broos have a start to Siyabonga Ngezana and while Khuliso Mudau passed fit to start at right-back, as the Super Eagles called on Kelechi Iheanacho in the place of the injured Victor Osimhen.
There was not too much action in the early stages before Teboho Mokoena's fierce shot from outside the area dipped off the ground and forced goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali into a save.
Mokoena went close again five minutes later after rattling the the frame of the woodwork through a long-range free-kick from outside the box.
Bafana did get the breakthrough on the half-hour mark when Siphelele Sithole played in Themba Zwane, who cut in to the centre of the area and finished into the far corner for his 12th goal for the national side.
The Super Eagles battled to cope and were pulled apart again as the over-lapping Mudau came close to profit from a one-two but Nwabali rushed out to smother.
However, the host were inches away from the leveller off a first-time header by Paul Onuachu but it was safely collected by Ronwen Williams.
Bafana surrendered advantage just after the break when Iwobi played a low first-time pass to Fisyao Dele-Bashiru, who turned Mothobi Mvala and slammed into the bottom corner.
With honours-even, no one really dominated thereafter as the match rather opened up and saw chances go the way of either nation.
Bafana showed fresh set of legs in the last 20 minutes with Lyle Foster and Oswin Appollis on the park and in for Mokwana and Iqraam Rayners respectively.
The Super Eagles threatened the lead later on when substitute Samuel Chukwueze came in on the near side following a one-two and hit the top of the upright.
Lookman very nearly stole all the points in added time with a curling strike from a tight angle, but Williams produced a tremendous outstretched save as 1-1 it finished in Uyo.
