Bafana Bafana have found themselves taking a step back on the latest FIFA rankings following results from March international break.
The senior national team drew 1-1 against lowly Andorra before an improved showing in the 3-3 stalemate against Algeria.

The two games were part of the FIFA Series.
With those two draws against Andorra – ranked 164th – and then 43rd-placed Algeria, Bafana dropped 2.56 points.
The consequences of that have been Hugo Broos' men falling one place down to 59th in the world.
However, the senior national team retains its 10th place position on the continent just behind Cameroon with Mali, Algeria, Tunisia, Cote d'Ivoire, Egypt, Nigeria, Senegal, and Morrocco making up the CAF top-ranked nations.
Broos guided Bafana to a third-place finish against all odds in what was South Africa's best finish at the AFCON finals in 24 years.
That performance pushed Bafana into the top 10.

When Broos took over from Molefi Ntseki as the national team coach in May 2021, Bafana Bafana were in tatters and ranked 75th.
Bafana will return to duty in June with two 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier matches against Nigeria and Zimbabwe.
