The Cape Argus reports that the match, which is scheduled for March 22, will take place at Cape Town Stadium, which did not host any Africa Cup of Nations matches.
Tourism, events and marketing mayoral committee member Grant Pascoe says they were impressed with the way in which South Africa’s Afcon warm-up match against Norway was organised.
"It will be an estimated expenditure of R3.1-million to host the game, with cost recovery on ticket sales, hospitality and concession," Pascoe says.
Cape Town Mayor Patricia de Lille reportedly joked in a meeting on Tuesday that the city would agree on hosting the game "on condition they [Bafana] score more goals".
