Orlando Pirates' Sipho Chaine and Thalente Mbatha, as well as Kaizer Chiefs' Rushwin Dortley headline Bafana Bafana's final 23-man squad to take on Uganda and South Sudan in 2025 AFCON qualifiers.
South Africa resume their quest for international glory with AFCON qualifiers against Uganda (to be played on 6 September) and South Sudan (10 September).

Bafana are in Group K of the qualifiers for the continental competition and will be drawing confidence from clinching a bronze medal at the previous competition earlier this year.
Ahead of the two matches, Hugo Broos had named a 38-man preliminary squad that has he has now trimmed downs to a final 23-man squad that will report for camp.
In the final squad, Chiefs' new signing Dortley is the highlight after impressing in the COSAFA Cup, while Pirates goalkeeper Chaine and Mbatha receive their first call-ups to Bafana.

His teammates Patrick Maswanganyi Relebohile Mofokeng have also returned to the fold after being called up for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Nigeria and Zimbabwe in July.
Stellenbosch FC defender Fawaaz Basadien, meanwhile, has also received his first call-up after an impressive start to the 2024/25 season. The left-back scored the deciding goal in a 1-0 win over Mamelodi Sundowns in the first leg of the MTN8 semi-final.
Some of the major absentees include Al Ahly Percy Tau and Mothobi Mvala, while Ronwen Williams misses out due to an injury.
