'Bafana play good football' - Broos praised by DR Congo coach

DR Congo head coach Sebastien Desabre has revealed what impressed him about Bafana Bafana and coach Hugo Broos after the Tuesday's international friendly at Orlando Stadium.

South Africa recorded a hard-fought 1-0 win over DR Congo at Orlando Stadium courtesy of a Lyle Foster goal.

Although the 96' Afcon champions scored the winner, DR Congo caused plenty of problems for the hosts, landing six shots on target from 13 attempts, while Bafana managed three shots on target from six attempts.

Despite the results, the visitors' head coach Desabre has some praise for Bafana and Broos.

"The team of South Africa had a lot of players that played against Morocco for example," Desabre said post-match.

"We knew before the game that it would be maybe a difficult game for us because we lacked some attitude (chemistry) between our players because it's the first time they played together.

"But I like the [tactical] organisation of South Africa, the team tried to build from the back with the goalkeeper but unfortunately today's (Tuesday) pitch is not at a level to try to play but it's good preparation for our next games in October and the start of the World Cup qualifiers."

Broos' side is undefeated in the last nine matches, having last tasted defeat against Morocco in June 2022.

"Bafana Bafana play good football, have got good results in the last few months," Desabre added.

"I think it's a team dangerous for us because today (Tuesday), with the spirit, they won the game. Good organisation and I know your coach, he (Broos) is a good coach."
