BREAKING: Broos announces Bafana prelim squad for crucial WC qualifiers

Head coach Hugo Broos has named Bafana Bafana's preliminary squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Nigeria and Zimbabwe respectively, to be played in June.

Bafana Bafana are set to take on the Super Eagles in Uyo, Nigeria on 7 June, before returning to South African soil to take on neighbours Zimbabwe in Bloemfontein four days later.

Ahead of those ties, Broos has named a 36-man strong squad that will later be trimmed down to a final 23 players to feature in the two matches.

The squad is headlined by the return Burnley striker Lyle Foster, who missed out on the AFCON due to a battle with mental health-related issues.

Relebohile Mofokeng is another stand-out name as he gets his first senior national teal call-up.

The 19 year old has been sensational for Orlando Pirates this season, contributing five goals and seven assists from his 37 appearances.

Stellenbosch FC defender Thabiso Moloisane, while man of the moment Siyabonga Ngezana also received a nod.
