Despite suffering a groin injury, Mamelodi Sundowns defender Mothobi Mvala has received backing from a Kaizer Chiefs legend as Bafana Bafana head to AFCON.
The national team announced on Mvala's fitness was doubtful after he centre-back suffered a groin injury during Bafana's training camp in Stellenbosch.

Although Mvala could not be part of the team that played to a goalless draw against Lesotho on Wednesday, Broos has decided to travel with the centre back to Ivory Coast.
As far as Mothobi is concerned, we did investigations which came back satisfactory," said Bafana's team doctor, Molobi.
"We are quite hopeful and optimistic that we will get Mothobi ready to participate in our first game on Tuesday.
"He has gone through a PRP for the injury that he sustained.
"This was more precautionary than anything, so at this point, we will continue treating him. Come Friday or Saturday then we will make a final decision after our final fitness tests."
While some have questioned the decision, with Orlando Pirates Tapelo Xoki available as a standby player, former Chiefs and Sekhukhune United defensive midfielder took to social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) to throw his support behind Mvala.
"Question: Why national team coach like Mvala?" Answer: His (he is) the best ball retriever in the country, soldier warrior. I become happy watching him."
