Head coach Hugo Broos has again hit back at his many critics while stating that he believes many criticisms were intended to undermine his position as Bafana Bafana coach.
The 71-year-old Belgian took over the reigns in 2021 and suffered his heaviest defeat as Bafana coach in March last year when his side were hammered 5-0 by world champions France.

Broos said he was surprised by the amount of criticism directed at him and believes it was meant to impact his position as Bafana coach.
"I've always been happy [with the team], not in the moments where there were a lot of critics because they were not honest and this is something I was angry about," Broos told SAFA media.
"When they tell me that we didn't play well, okay we didn't play well but every time I go back to the game again France with the criticism that I read and I heard, [I thought] that no this is not honest, they just wanted to destabilise my position as Bafana Bafana coach.
"They were not saying 'this or that is not good' no, they were looking for stupid things, [they were saying] that I disrespected the nation or didn't understand African culture, just stupid things."
"You can't defend yourself against such things and even when I wanted to and I did it once and I will never do it again but yes, okay for the rest with the boy together I was happy to Bafana coach.
"So now I hope that people understand what we did in the last few years and understand that also I had a goal when I started, little by little I am achieving that."
Broos was reflecting on his tenure as Bafana coach as his squad puts in the final preparations for an Afcon qualifier clash against Morocco.
The clash will be played at FNB Stadium and will kick off at 17:00.
