Bafana warned of sea of black, yellow and red in Orlando

Ugandan player agent and development coach Paul Mujuni has outlined what Bafana Bafana should look out for in their AFCON qualifier against the Cranes.

Hugo Broos and his charges open their qualifiers campaign with a clash against Uganda at Orlando Stadium on Friday, before then travelling to South Sudan for their second encounter set to take place on Tuesday.

Mujuni, who enjoys a close relationship with the Ugandan technical team, believes they will hold their own against the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations bronze medalists.

He expects Uganda to have more fans than South Africa at the iconic venue come Friday.

"[The team will be] residing at Radisson Red Hotel in Rosebank, Johannesburg," Mujuni informs KickOff.

"I think we have learned our lessons against Algeria. We are ready to engage Bafana Bafana and put up a big, spirited game.

"There are a lot of good players to watch, like locally-based Denis Omedi of Kitara FC - a very good player - Mohammad Shaban from Al Hilal of Libya, Steven Mukwala of Simba in Tanzania, Travis Mutyaba the former Zamalek player.

"The defence is solid. I can't wait to see the pairing of Bevis Mugabi and Elio Capradossi in defence," he continues.

Mujuni also acknowledged the strengths that Bafana pose but still feels they won't have it all easy.

"Bafana Bafana is a very good team, well organized. I know the majority of players are from Mamelodi Sundowns, and there are a few from Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs. I think it's going to be tight. It's a draw, for me. Possibly 0-0.

"As a country, we are very excited and looking forward to this game. You know, we have never won a single game against Bafana Bafana, therefore we want to break the jinx.

"A win in Johannesburg will be a big boost for us. There are a lot of Ugandans living in South Africa, and the majority are football lovers, especially when it comes to Uganda Cranes, so expect Orlando Stadium to be filled with black, yellow and red colours.

"One of the officials, the assistant coach, Sam Simba, is a very good friend of mine and my former coach. They know the strength of Bafana Bafana but are looking forward to putting up a fight."

Kick-off is at 18:00.
