In the latest edition of our feature, Where Are They Now, KickOff catches up with former Ajax Cape Town and Bafana Bafana defender Andile Sixaba on life after football.
Who am I...
"Andile Sixaba is from Kwa Langa township in Cape Town, he played for Seven Stars and Ajax Cape Town.
"Football is something I started playing at a very young age, I never even worked another job. Even today I'm still playing with over the 40s, the legends."

My playing days...
"I can't complain. I had my moment and I even played for Bafana Bafana. My most memorable game was when I was still in the first division with Seven Stars, I marked Raphael Chukwu out of the game at Athlone Stadium. If I remember very well it was in the BobSave Super Bowl. I can say that's where I made a name for myself because Raphael was a bully. I dealt with him, he never gave us any problem that day."

Did I make money from soccer?
"Not that much because in our time we grew up loving sport. I stayed in Cape Town my whole career. People are always asking me if I was not getting offers. But I always tell them that those days you only learned of offers from your club bosses."
Where I'm living...
"I'm still staying with my mother at home. It's my parent's place. I'm an easygoing person and people still recognise me. Though sometimes they are afraid to approach me assuming I'm a difficult person."
Jobs since playing the game...
"I've never worked any other job since playing the game.
"I want to help another gentleman who wants to buy an ABC Motsepe League status, I have my SAFA D coaching licence."
My current job...
"At the moment things are not going well, I even pay a visit to Ikamva now and then, even though now the team has been renamed Cape Town Spurs. I meet up with the likes of Shaun Bartlett, Hans Vonk, Calvin Marlin and Nathan Paulse and all my ex-teammates over there. They are always happy to see me.
"At the moment I'm still without a job but I will not give up I will keep on hustling. My hope was on the gentleman who wants to buy status, although he already has his people. So I don't want it to appear as if I'm gunning for other people's jobs."

If you could do it again...
"I would leave Cape Town and look for new challenges elsewhere. I would grab an opportunity with both hands. I do regret not making use of the opportunity."
