The Vera Pauw-coached side avoided nemesis Nigeria, who were paired against hosts Namibia, Zambia and Cote d’Ivoire in a draw conducted in the Namibian capital of Windhoek on Saturday.
“I am happy with the draw. I could not have asked for a better outcome. If you want to be a champion, you must be prepared to slag it out against the best,” said Pauw in reaction to the draw.
The top three countries will qualify for the FIFA Women’s World Cup scheduled for Canada next year.
