Banyana ease past Namibia

In Janine van Wyk’s 100th international match, the home side took an early lead when Amanda Dlamini slotted home after just three minutes, taking advantage of an interception from just outside the box.

Banyana enjoyed most of the possession in the first half, with Nothando Vilakazi’s 35th-minute strike hitting the crossbar.

Leandra Smeda extended the hosts’ lead in the second half, with Portia Modise showing great skill before setting up her teammate.

Coach Vera Pauw gave new debutant Thembi Kgatlane from the High Performance Centre a run in the match.

Banyana are preparing for the 9th edition of the African Women’s Championship, which will be hosted in Namibia from 11-25 October.
