Both nations are using the game to prepare for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, taking place in Cameroon from November 19 to December 3.
"We are very excited to be in Zimbabwe and proud of how far they have come in international football," said captain Janine Van Wyk.
"We along with the Mighty Warriors were the only representatives of Africa in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. And the fact that we are the only two countries from COSAFA going to the Women’s AFCON, means we are the best two sides in the region.
"We want to use this international friendly to work on formations. We have a few new faces in the team and they need some game time to get used to how we play."
Desiree Ellis's squad will return home tomorrow and are expected to depart for West Africa on November 14.
Banyana have been drawn in Group A with Zimbabwe, Cameroon and Egypt at the continental showpiece.
