In a closely-fought contest at the D’Almeida Stadium in Mossel Bay, Emily Moholoholo scored the only goal of the game in the 69th minute.
Moholoholo was played through on goal down the right channel, composed herself and finished under the goalkeeper despite a desperate challenge from Angelique Martins Ferreira to try to prevent the ball from trickling over the line.
The match-winner was named the Diski Queen of the Match and could hardly contain her excitement during her post-match interview.
“We prepared very well and I’d like to thank my coach and my teammates, if it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t have done this,” Moholoholo said on SABC.
“I’m very happy, it’s been a while, we’ve wanted this for a long time and then we reached it.”
