Cavin Johnson expects tough Netherlands test for Banyana

Experienced tactician Cavin Johnson says Banyana Banyana face a tough test against the Netherlands in a Round of 16 clash stages at the FIFA Women's World Cup on Sunday.

Desiree Ellis' side made history by qualifying for the knockout stages for the first time ever with a dramatic Group G win over Italy.

The 54th ranked Banyana will now face another stern challenge when they face a Netherlands side 9th in the world rankings.

"We don't have a fully professional league in this country, those girls have only been together for a while," Johnson tells KickOff.

"The fact that we are playing against a very, very good team in the Netherlands, who I believe have a fully professional league, so our next game will be difficult.

"But having said that, a football is round hey, it's 90 minutes, and all we have to do is pray.

"This part of the tournament, these are the knockout stages, they will need us to prepare well.

"The girls are in the right shape to win the game.

"But all these things I've mentioned will play a big part because the girls some of them are not playing in professional leagues.

"Some of them, don't have proper competition they play throughout the year.

"All those things play a major role in this part of the competition. I don't think any coach can change their approach in such a short space of time with all these things, that are happening in football. Hopefully, we will do well.

"Hopefully our defence gets better."
