Banyana recorded one of their biggest victories when they beat Nigeria 2-1 in their first Group C encounter played in Rabat on Monday.
South Africa scored their goals through Jermaine Seoposenwe and Hilda Magai to cap Banyana's fine performance against the Nigerians.
Banyana are now set to take on Burundi in their second match of the 2022 Africa Women Cup Of Nations tournament.
"We always want to improve performances, to be better, get better and to make sure that number one, we don't concede because we know we are a team that will create opportunities.
"We have watched Burundi in a number of matches now including against Tanzania, against Uganda and now Botswana as well and they can cause a threat," Ellis told the media.
"I think talking about the first game (against Nigeria), it was massive to get three points but this one is even bigger because it almost gives us a foot into the quarter-finals, she added.
Banyana Banyana are set to keep the tried and tested with captain Refiloe Jane leading the team in the middle of the park when they take on Burundi this evening.
