Banyana Banyana lifted the Wafcon trophy for the first time ever in a historic 2-1 win over hosts Morroco on Saturday.
"It's a great moment for Banyana Banyana," Heredia tells KickOff.
"They've been playing good football, and the difference is the current players feature regularly for their domestic teams.
"While previously there wasn't really a proper league for women.
"There was no proper training, and coaching, where today it's very different because players coming from our local leagues are playing overseas.
"Before we had no players playing in European leagues whereas now we have six, seven players abroad.
"What is making all the difference for me is the players are playing regular club football.
"Our better-organised league has brought us different players and, improved performances."
