Palacios: 'Banyana didn’t use their chances'

Former Bafana Bafana head coach Augusto Palacios says failing to convert clear-cut chances is what is costing Banyana Banyana.

The South African women's team dropped more points in the FIFA World Cup after allowing Argentina to come back from behind to draw the match 2-2.

"In football, you have to make use of your chances," Palacios tells KickOff.

"If you don't take your chances then you will have a problem. It's like that everywhere.

"The game is only finished when the referee says so. But we are learning.

"It's sad because we could have taken the three points. But it's a World Cup there's strong competition.

"We should have taken our chances to make it 3-0, 4-0, we should have taken them as Spain did against Costa Rica.

"But we must not panic yet because we do have players. The technical team needs to explain to the players where we need to improve and that's all.

"Our next game against Italy we need to go with confidence like we did against Argentina.

"We need to win the game if we want to keep ourselves in the World Cup."
